David and the Hill

March 6
This past week was awesome!

I don't have a lot of time because we are at a new library and we now have more limited time... but it's all good because I have some pictures! hahahah

David and the Hill
Yesterday we were driving home from church and david was in a wheel chair trying to get up a hill so we turned around got out and went to talk to him. We asked if he needed any help and he said no he was fine, that he needed to do it himself... but he honestly wasn't going anywhere.. every effort he made to go up was back tracked when the momentum was lost. so even though he thought he was moving he really wasn't. we asked if we could walk him home and he said yes. Me being sneaky got behind him and started to hold his wheelchair in place so every time he turned the wheels he would actually go somewhere.
sometimes I would push and David would say No! i need to do it
we rounded the corner to his house and once again it was uphill. by this point we had gotten to know david and he trusted us. he said I don't like it when people push me because i have to rely on myself.. but you can push me now.

yesterday i got to help david up a hill, but david helped me so much more.

how often do we think we need to climb lives hills by ourselves?
when we try to do anything without Christ, despite our greatest efforts we go no where. even if we think we are moving.
when we think we are doing it 'by ourselves' if we are going anywhere in life it is because Christ is behind us, holding our wheelchair in place so we actually can make it up the hill.
when we come to know Christ and understand who he is and the power of his atonement we can truly rely completely on him and he will push us up the hill. he is already behind us more than ready to help

I know Christ understands each of us perfectly. He knows the hills we've climbed and the ones we're on and the ones ahead. because he alone climbed them, he's made it possible so we don't ever have to do it alone.

give me mountains to climb!

#1 here is David!
