This past week we had a couple of cool experiences with the spirit!
CHURCH TOUR
We took our investigator Ed around our church building and we started off by sharing the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ, it immediately brought in the spirit in abundance! then we walked around the building and went into the Baptismal font. We read some scriptures out of the Book of Mormon (Mosiah 18:8-10 and 3 Nephi 11...) Teaching out of the Book of Mormon is the best way to teach. Once again the spirit was super strong! then we ended in the chapel, and we played "come follow me" and invited them to read the words from the hymn book. And that was the third strike! the spirit was over whelming. Of the 6 of us, 3 people cried and it was all the guys haha. I know the spirit can ONLY testify of truth. I am so grateful to have my testimony strengthened every day as i keep my spiritual eyes and ears open for the spirit.
but that doesn't mean i am always perfect... which leads me to my next story
DON'T DO IT
one night we had about an hour of awkward time where nothing was working out so we decided to go and try this member on the ward roster (i couldn't remember if she was active or not) At first it was fine but on the drive over there I didn't feel "wrong" but I just didn't feel the spirit as strongly as before. I didn't think much about it. We started walking up to the house and a lady came out and she wasn't... the happiest to see us haha. Anyways long story short looking back I'm pretty positive that was the spirit saying "way to make a decision, but let's try again" It was so subtle that i literally missed it. But I am grateful for this because it is teaching me more of how the spirit communicates with me.
It's hot and humid and you know sometimes the work is slow. But i love my calling. I know that I am on the Lord's errand and with His help ALL things can be achieved.
