Okay now for the actual joyful stories of a mission! {JOY}
BOM reading with Abrion this week was so special! At one point her, her daughter Armonee, and son Christian, were all sitting on their couch reading from the Book of Mormon. I literally wanted to take a picture. It was the one of the most rewarding moments on my mission.
Having a testimony of the BOM is so so so important. If you have that foundation when we are asked to do hard things they suddenly become more bearable. If the BOM is true then everything else is true. I love the simple truths it teaches. Sometimes it can be hard to read but I know that when we put in effort God will open our eyes.
A less active, member named Sis White, when I first got here was having a real hard time reading the BOM. She was kind of sad and she couldn't completely figure out why. But every week we go over and read with her. We always leave the invitation for her to read to following chapter. No Lie I have seen the light in her eyes grow since she has committed to reading the Book Of Mormon. It brings MIRACLES into lives. Her life isn't 'better' but now she has more confidence and is seeing the bright side of things.
I love Heavenly Father and His willingness to send us to this earth to learn and grow. I bet it was hard for Him to see us leave, but He didn't let us go empty handed. The Book Of Mormon is one of the greatest gifts we have. When used with a sincere heart it can literally change lives.
